Higher Education Secretary Reviews Cleanliness Campaign Progress

Higher Education Secretary Vineet Joshi conducted a thorough inspection on Wednesday to assess cleanliness standards and review the progress of ongoing initiatives under the Special Campaign 5.0, officials said. The inspection focused on the office premises of the Ministry of Education in Shastri Bhawan and aimed to evaluate the implementation of cleanliness measures and space management efforts.
The preparatory phase of the campaign was launched on September 15 and concluded on September 30, setting the foundation for the implementation phase scheduled from October 2 to 31. This phase emphasizes clearing pending matters such as MP references, PMO communications, inter-ministerial files, public grievances, and Parliamentary assurances. Participating offices are required to report progress on a daily basis.
Officials from centrally funded institutions, UGC, AICTE, and the Higher Education Department were requested to set specific targets, identify pending issues, and outline key areas for improving cleanliness and workspace management during the preparatory phase.
According to the Ministry, this initiative aims to enhance efficiency, accountability, and hygiene standards across office premises while ensuring timely resolution of pending matters. The inspection reflects the ministry’s ongoing commitment to fostering clean, well-managed, and transparent working environments in the higher education sector.
